“I was very impressed with Daisy’s professional attitude and caring approach with her horses”
Kate Boe, Equine Physiotherapist
Kate visits Daisy's horses every 12 weeks to give the horses a physio session in addition to Caroline’s regular massages. As well as the traditional hands on physio a variety of machines are used to target areas of tightness and release tension. These include deep oscillation (physiopod), muscle electro stimulation (H-wave), phototherapy, ultrasound and pulsed electromagnetic field therapy.
After a treatment the difference is noticeable with a softer, looser way of going and a real willingness to work.
Kate is a qualified Animal Physiotherapist based in Dorset, Hampshire & South Wiltshire providing a holistic approach to treating and rehabilitating equine & canine clients with equal importance. Kate was lucky enough to own horses from an early age, competing in many spheres including team chasing, eventing and dressage.
Kate’s medical career started in the Royal Air Force as a trauma and rehabilitation nurse serving in the UK and overseas providing care for British and foreign troops. This role taught her a great deal about treating acute and chronic injuries along with the importance of effective rehabilitation. Whilst serving in the UK Kate represented the RAF in dressage and eventing at many inter-service competitions throughout her career.
On leaving the military Kate achieved her BHS stage 1 & 2 before attending the Oxford College of Equine Physical Therapy where she attained her McTimoney-Corley Animal Manipulation qualification. Following this course she wanted to further expand her knowledge and undertook a number of human and animal based massage courses to provide a holistic musculoskeletal treatment combined with manipulation therapy. After 8 years of business Kate has further developed her career by attaining a Post Graduate qualification in Animal Physiotherapy at The College of Animal Physiotherapy in Oxford, and is fully insured and a regulated member of IAAT & AMCST.
Having a wide and varied client base Kate treats a range of equines including top competition horses, riding club horses competing in all spheres, RDA horses and horses used purely for leisure. Kate also has a large canine client base including working, companion and therapy dogs.
